Join the movement to bring LGBTQ+ representation throughout the Pacific Southwest Region and establish a ministry of presence that serves all members and congregations in our care.
This fall, the Pacific Southwest Region of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) voted to create the first official recognition of LGBTQ+/Open and Affirming within its leadership by adding a member to their governing board, with the support of the Church in Society Committee.
The initial proposal had received unanimous support from our Regional Minister, Associate Regional Ministers representing Hispanic, Black/African-American, and Asian American/Pacific Islander communities, and other members of leadership committees to be voted on by the Regional Assembly.
Our churches believe that decisions should be affirmed by the people within congregations, and voted on October 15 to support this proposal which designates AllianceQ-PSWR as a Recognized Ministry of the Pacific Southwest Region.
